Happy Holidays! Mount Markham CSD will be on recess from 12/23 - 1/02. Have a peaceful and restful break.
Knowing that the needs of our students and their families may still be present over the break, we want to make sure that our community knows that, while the school is closed, Connected Community Schools is still working and able to connect with families to meet their needs. Each building will have a site coordinator on-site over the break. Site coordinators are not working on 12/23, 12/26 and 1/2. On-call CCS staff will be available 24/7.
We love to see collaboration between our schools! Students from Mr. Rathbone’s 8th-grade Advanced Technology class made Christmas ornaments and brought them to Mrs. Jones’s kindergarten class. The kindergarten students decorated the ornaments and got to take them home.
Mount Markham High School faculty, staff and students collected 50 pounds of items to be distributed to deployed soldiers and sailors overseas during the holiday months! Along with the items, $125 was collected to help with mailing costs.
Deck the (School) Halls! Mount Markham CSD is getting ready for the holiday season. Check out some of the amazing decorations throughout our schools!

“Break a leg!” takes on a whole new meaning for a woefully misguided troupe of players at the Cornley University Society’s opening night performance of The Murder at Haversham Manor. An unconscious leading lady, a corpse who can’t play dead, a ruffled detective, and a word-mangling butler (among others) must battle against technical gaffes, forgotten lines and sabotaging scenery in a quest to arrive all in one piece at the final curtain call. Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, all mayhem, this 1920s whodunit is disastrously delightful.
Congratulations to Karie Sanzo for receiving a Staff Shout-Out! Your hard work is appreciated!

Mr. Mosny's English 10 Honors class went on a tour of Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute as part of a unit where students make observations of art pieces and use those observations to interpret the meaning of the piece. During this trip, students were able to view Thomas Cole's Voyage of Life mural series, which they are using for a class assignment analyzing visual symbolism and a model Regents Task 3 analysis essay.
The Mount Markham Mustangs Apparel Store is up and running! Order by November 28 for delivery before December 25.

They learned about our suicide prevention program, discussed the strengths they have in their lives to get through challenging times and helped to plan activities and schoolwide campaigns for the upcoming school year.
