
With support from Arts In Education through Herkimer BOCES, the high school drama club was privileged to attend a special viewing of “A Christmas Carol” at Syracuse Stage.
Syracuse Stage is a non-profit professional theatre company in residence at Syracuse University, and our students had a front-row seat for the exceptional production.

Mount Markham Middle School is again part of the Stuff the Bus: School Challenge! Last year, we came in 3rd place, so we are striving for 2nd or 1st place this year. We encourage students to bring in new, unwrapped toys to contribute to Stuff the Bus and help their House win 50 points! Toys will be collected from November 27 - December 5 and can be brought to the conference room in the main office, to a student's mentor, or to another adult in a student's House. If you have any questions, feel free to call the main office at 315-822-2870. Let's spread holiday cheer!


Mount Markham Connected Community Schools is hosting a holiday craft night on November 30 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the elementary cafeteria.

Some of our high school teachers just returned from an exciting NYSCATE Conference! This conference is for educators and technology specialists in New York to come together and share ideas about how technology can benefit student learning and engagement. Sarah Robinson and Alaina Brower ran two sessions on emerging technologies in the classroom that have enhanced education for our students at Mount Markham and how technology can facilitate cross-curricular collaboration between science and English classes. Marie Kenyon joined them at the conference as well!

Mount Markham Middle School held its 6th annual American Heart Association Dodgeball tournament on Saturday, November 18. Students raised money for research and aid for those with heart disease. Over $2,200 was donated! Three students helped the cause by raising over $200 each: thank you, Aubrey Waldron, Larissa Alsante, and Nathen Foley!

Yesterday, Mount Markham Middle School held its November House Assembly. In addition to celebrating our students' hard work with the dodgeball tournament and the food drive, students also had a chance to play Minute-To-Win-It and pie some of their teachers!
