Enhancing our Schools: Updated Mission, Vision & Values and Upcoming Capital Improvement Vote.

Dear Families,
Welcome back to a new school year! I trust that your family’s return to school routines has sparked exciting conversations around the kitchen table and inspired renewed interest in personal growth.
Looking to the future of our school district, we remain deeply committed to providing every student with an exceptional education. Guided by our rural heritage and enriched by our community’s diversity, we have recently revised our district’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to reflect our highest aspirations for our children.
Our Mission
Rooted in our rural heritage and enriched by our diversity, we are dedicated to developing the unique talents of every child. In partnership with our community, we provide children with a strong academic and emotional foundation so they can learn, grow, and achieve success.
Our Vision
Challenging and inspiring children to be lifelong learners and contributing citizens.
Our Values
- Accountability for meeting the needs of all children.
- Student-centered decision-making.
- Rigor, relevance, and meaningful relationships.
- Pride in rural roots and community partnership.
As we critically assess our current work, our goal is to build and support student programs that effectively prepare every child for life after high school—whether they choose to enter the workforce directly or pursue college and technical career pathways.
Over the next few years, we will carefully review and refine our academic and extracurricular programs to ensure they align with our Portrait of a Graduate pillars. This process will help us guarantee that every course, activity, and learning experience provides the rigor and relevance your children need to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Upcoming Capital Improvement Project Vote
On Wednesday, December 2, Mount Markham Central School District residents will have the opportunity to vote on a proposed capital improvement project. Designed to address critical facility and infrastructure needs across our district, this project will allow us to keep our buildings safe, fully functional, and modernized to support evolving learning modalities.
We encourage all community members to stay informed as details develop. Please visit our district website regularly for important updates, detailed project specifics, and voting information in the coming weeks.
We deeply value our partnership with you and look forward to working together to inspire the next generation of lifelong learners and contributing citizens.
Thank you for your continued support of our schools.
Warm regards,
Lauren H. Crisman
Superintendent of Schools
