Several of our seniors enrolled in Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES Career and Technical Education were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society during a ceremony on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the Herkimer BOCES William E. Busacker Complex.
Herkimer BOCES Principal of Career and Technical Education Sheri Perry and Herkimer BOCES National Technical Honor Society advisors Sarah Schubert and Samantha Wahl presented certificates to the students. Each student received NTHS graduation cords and pins, marking their status as two-year members.
The induction ceremony included comments from Perry, Schubert, and keynote speaker Tamara Banks, who graduated from the Herkimer BOCES Cosmetology program as an adult student and was a member of NTHS. Students, including Mount Markham seniors Dezirae Schlaepfer and Navy Escamilla, presented information about the NTHS's purpose, colors, emblem, motto, and slogan. The inductees also participated in a candle-lighting ceremony, symbolizing their induction into the NTHS.
