Samuel Casale has been selected as the Mt. Markham Optimist Club 8th Grade Youth of the Month for September. Samuel is the son of Andrew and Jennifer Casale of West Winfield, NY. During his time in middle school, Sam has participated in modified football and has taken part in both the middle school and all-school plays and musicals. He is also a member of the National Junior Honor Society, where he serves as Treasurer.
In addition, Samuel is an active member of the Junior FFA and has engaged in various community service events with the club. His volunteer work includes helping at the Diamond Dawg baseball game, the Federated Church Ham Dinner, and assisting with the Optimist Club's Christmas basket delivery for the past seven years.
Sam is enrolled in the Accelerated Algebra, Living Environment, ELA, and AFNR classes. He has received an MMTA award for having the highest average in Accelerated Math and has earned a first-place finish at the NYS Fair Agronomy contest. He has been on the Honor Roll throughout his Middle School years as well. Sam’s future plans include getting a college degree to be an Architect and to work for his brother.
