Hello Mt. Markham Community!
It has been wonderful to see the sun again these past few weeks. Our campus is once again buzzing with energy as we dive into all things spring. I am writing to share some exciting information regarding upcoming events and important calendar updates.
Emergency Day Giveback Days
Since the District did not use all of our allotted emergency days this year, we now have "giveback" days. To extend the Memorial Day weekend, our schools will also be closed on:
Friday, May 22
Tuesday, May 26
Additionally, staff will not be required to report on Friday, June 26.
End-of-Year Schedule Updates
As we approach the conclusion of the academic year, please take note of the following schedule changes:
Grades 9-12 will have an alternative schedule on June 9 due to the administration of the English 11 Regents. More information will be provided as it nears.
Grades 9-12: The last day of regular classes will be Tuesday, June 16.
Grades PK-8: Beginning Tuesday, June 23, students will be released at 11:30 AM for the remainder of the school year.
The last day of school for PK is June 23rd and for Gradesk K-8 it is June 25th.
Public Hearing: 2026-2027 Proposed School Budget & Board of Education Meeting
There will be a Public Hearing on May 12 at 7:00 pm in the High School Auditorium. We encourage all community members to join us for this informative evening, during which we will discuss the following topics:
The proposed budget for the 2026-2027 school year: This is a great opportunity to stay informed about our district's fiscal planning.
Board of Education Vacancies: Following the public hearing, candidates running for the Board of Education will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and share a few words about their candidacy.
Our regular monthly Board of Education business meeting will occur immediately after the Public Hearing.
Support Our Student-Athletes
Please be sure to support our many school athletic programs! Our student-athletes have been working hard, and they love seeing fans in the stands.

The end of the school year is always a whirlwind of celebration. From our upcoming spring concerts to our various awards nights honoring student achievements, there are countless opportunities to celebrate the hard work of our kids. We hope to see you at many of these events as we bring the 2025-2026 school year to a successful close!
