Art Students Featured in Galleries

Art students throughout the district had the opportunity to showcase their artwork at several galleries in the area, earning awards and recognition for their hard work.

The annual Youth Arts Show at the Main Street Collective Gallery in Cherry Valley featured works from Blake Scherer, Austin Russell, Madison Riddell, Jenny Lewandowski, Cheyenne Tanney, Gracie Kristoferson, Aspen Ward, and Savannah Wilcox. Notably, Cheyenne and Gracie both sold their pieces, and Savannah was awarded Best in Show.

Additionally, both middle school and high school students had their artwork selected for the annual Reflections Show at the Cogar Gallery at Herkimer County Community College. The students included in this exhibition were Trenton Guyer, Chris Hendrickson, Kris Loomis, Jakob Manley, Bailey Hendrickson, Levi Jones, Mariah Benjamin, Randy Hatch, and Elaina Raymond.

Several artists received recognition at other art shows as well. At the Old Forge Library Annual Poetry & Art Contest, Gracie Kristoferson won first place for her Liberty Sculpture. Trenton Guyer, Josh Orozco-Risco, Jenny Lewandowski, and Elaina Coffin all received honorable mention awards at the Feinimore Youth Art Month Contest in Cooperstown.

We are proud to have so many talented artists at Mount Markham!
