Katie Lindsey Golden Owl Award

Katie Lindsey, an agriculture teacher and Junior FFA advisor, has been honored as a finalist for the 2025-2026 Golden Owl Award. This prestigious award recognizes agriculture teachers who have made a significant positive impact in their classrooms and communities. Lindsey stands out as one of ten extraordinary ag teachers recognized across New York State.

As the demand for more agricultural educators continues to grow nationwide, teachers who go above and beyond in educating America’s youth and future leaders are more important than ever. The New York FFA Leadership Training Foundation, in partnership with Nationwide and the New York Farm Bureau, recognized each finalist during a statewide tour on Wednesday, April 1st. Ms. Lindsey was surprised by a visit from NY FFA staff and a school assembly, where she was presented with a $500 award check.

Lindsey’s unwavering dedication to her students and the agriculture program at Mount Markham has earned her this well-deserved recognition. We take pride in having inspiring educators like Ms. Lindsey in our district.

Congratulations!
