Dear Members of the Mt. Markham Community,
On Sept. 6, 2016, Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed a law that requires public schools in New York State to test for lead in all water outlets currently or potentially used for drinking or cooking.
I write to inform you about the recent results of water testing completed at MMCSD.
Results can be found below.
In the coming days, the Buildings and Grounds Department will follow prescribed remediation protocols for areas that did not meet the standard. Please be assured that all outlets that tested above the state’s level have been taken out of service, or marked with appropriate signage, and will remain so until the remediation and retesting are completed.
We take these findings very seriously and will work with all governing agencies and consultants to ensure that we address the areas properly and efficiently.
