We are excited to announce an Unveiling Ceremony for the Coach Charles R. Engle Memorial Monument! The ceremony will be held at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Mount Markham Senior High School.
Coach Engle was a beloved and well-respected soccer coach, teacher, and mentor who served the district for 48 years (49 seasons), starting at Leonardsville Central School in 1968, until his retirement in 2016. During that time, Engle amassed 650 wins (a New York State record), made it to the state final on four occasions, won 13 Class C Sectional Titles, and had three undefeated seasons in league play. Engle’s record of 654-233-4 is among the top ten in the nation, according to the NYS Public High School Athletic Association.
We hope to see some of his former players and other Mount Markham CSD alumni, teachers, coaches, staff, and community members who have fond memories of Coach Engle during his several years of service to our district and community.
